High Tcode,

There is only delivery date & as such no confirmed date. You will get the delivery quantity & the confirmed quantity. I will explain as to how does the process happens:

1. In the material master of "A" - MRP2 screen - you have entered "procurement type as E-in house prouction"/in house production = 10 days.

2. Scenario is make to stock. Say initially 10 pieces of material "A" are in stock.

3. You create a sales order today i.e 16/07/2008 for item "A" 10 quantities. If you check at the line item level - schedule line - the system through availability check determined that 10 pieces are in stock so it has confirmed 10 pieces for the item on today's date. The schedule lines will display as below

Deliv Date----Order Qty-Rounded Qty---Confirmed Qty.

16/07/2008--

10.

You can save the sales order & do the delivery.

4. Create another sales order for item "A" with order quantity of "5" pieces. As soon as you put quantity & press enter the system will display the availability check screen. Here it will display that today no quantity will be confirmed & it will display that on 26/07/2008 "5" pieces will be available. If you click on "delivery proposal" the system will determined 2 different scheule lines as under

Deliv Date----Order Qty-Rounded Qty---Confirmed Qty.

Whenever you create a delivery system checks in the sales order whether there is at least a single quantity available in the "confirmed Quantity" field on the date on which the delivery is getting created.

This is the main difference I think you were asking. Hope it gives you some clarification.

Reward points if solution helps.

With best regards,

Delivery date is the desired date of the customer to receive the goods.

This desired date may or may not be possible to meet.

System , in delivery scheduling ,first starts Backward scheduling and checks/test whether this desired date can be confirmed or not taking the lead times into consideration.

If it is possible, then system confirms this desired delivery date.

If not possible then system performs Forward scheduling and gives the earliest possible delivery date ,which is called Confirm delivery date..

If Forward scheduling is done, then Delivery date and Confirm delivery date are different, otherwise Delivery date and Confirm delivery date are same date.

The date on which you despatch the goods is delivery date. But in the case of confirmed date, it may not be necessary that you should despatch the material on confirmed date. It may be at a later date also.

thanks

Hi .

delivery date : the date at which we delivery the material to the customer.

confirmed date: it depends on the delivery date.

say example : the system will generate a date to delivery the material to customer based on the material availbality date and lead day in time.

but when we create a order we have given a requested delivery date. based on this the system will calcute and generte the new date.

thanks

Dear T code,

Delivery date

A point in time (calendar date and/or time of the day) at which goods are or are due to be delivered or a service is or is due to be performed.

This can be the date and/or time desired by the customer or the date and/or time confirmed by the vendor.

Confirmed Date

The Date of a item that the system can confirm as available after performing a check when a sales document is created or changed.

I hope it will help you,

Regards,

Murali.
