hi all,

in ST22tcode we check abap dumps.

there is one option called, KEEP after the CLIENT option.

in the KEEP again we have 4 options as

ALL-------

C----

---

NOT LOCKED

X----

---

LOCKED

R----

---

RELEASED.

i want to know the details of these options as when we use them.

related links will be appreciated.

explination will be awarded definite points.

Hi

To keep for further analysis we use this option.

To do that, select the short dump and click on the Keep / Release icon or, from the

menu, select Short dump Keep / release.

one question regarding this, how can you find the dumps that you select to keep? they will still be available in ST22?

Hello,

ıf you don't want to delete some abap dumps via housekeeping jobs, you can keep

if you do not need this keeped dump, ypu can release

it will be deleted by house keeping jobs after release

As far as i know the keep/release options is to avoid the dump been deleted by the SAP_REORG_ABAPDUMPS and once the analysis of the dump is completed you can release for deletion.
