Clarification for XI Technologies

Hi Experts,

Actually i am working in SAP Business One Platform.In our profile i used to develop our product by .Net and SQL Server. I have so much of exposer of that platform and I know the Business Scenario.

I need some clarification from the XI Technologies.

1) Does XI Technologies belongs to any specific language?

2) Is ABAP language Necessary?

3) What are the Scope of the Technologies?

4) Can i able to shift from SAP Business One to SAP XI?

NO

XI is only configuration part. We recieve files from different systems & we need to send to different systems.

Like, FILE 2 IDOC, FILE 2 JDBC, FILE 2 FILE , PROXY TO PROXY...vice-versa.

We can import JAVA functions into XI . Hence if u know JAVA it may be good.

U should be familair with XML, XSLT, DOM , SAX parsers.

YES.

In doing FILE 2 IDOC , PROXY we need ABAP knowledge like t/codes for IDocs, OOABAP..

>>3) What are the Scope of the Technologies?

There is a huge scope b'coz XI is a 3rd party system associated with XI.

It is a growing component of Netweaver.

>> 4) Can i able to shift from SAP Business One to SAP XI?

YES.

No its not specific to any language

No its not abap language necessary

3) What are the Scope of the Technologies?

Future of XI as per the current stage it is very good as Xi has previously came up with Xi2.0,XI3.0 then PI7.0 and they are coming with PI 7.1 with SOA which has advantage over other integration tool.

PI 7.1 is also based on SOA and more new features which customer wants in the current market.

4) Can i able to shift from SAP Business One to SAP XI?

Yes you can

1) No ; it is not any language specific, but it depends on both JAVA and ABAP.

2)It will be good if u knowledge in either ABAP or JAVA.

ABAP will be useful when u r dealing with Proxies and ABAP Mapping.

yes u can shift from SAP Business one to SAP XI.

we can't say specifically that it is dependent on specific language,but majorly ABAP+JAVA

It depends upon the business reuirements.

XI is one of the Intergration Technology.

Not specific to any language

Prerequisites are Knowledge on Core Java, ALE, IDOC and XML, XSLT.

HI works with 2 stack together:

java --> desing, configuration scenario and monitoring

and ABAP --> configuration and comunication with SLD and JAVA STACK and monitoring
