- doubts about BP SRM

Hi experts,

I've been studying about BP SRM to SAP Portal, but still have doubts about it.

1) What is it necessary to use this package? The SRM server must be installed? And R/3?

2) What kind of license the client has to purchase to be able to use this BP?

4) Is there some relation between R/3 Transactions and roles in the SRM BP?

5) Can I get and put data from R/3 using this BP?

fisrt of all, I'd like to thank you for your attention with my question.

I'm sorry for my English mistakes.

Yes, I am talking about Business Package to Portal, to be more specific, I am talking about SRM Business Package.

Regarding about the fifth item, what I'need to know is if the SRM Business Package can change information/data directly with R/3 or if the SRM BP needs the SRM Server installed to do this.

Business Package is just a package of sample contents for Portal. You can change information/data directly with R/3 with custom iView or some of standard portal content.

After reading your answers I could have a better idea of how SRM business package works and then I am considering this question answered.

1. EP(Enterprise portal or as you say SRM portal) can not work directly. For this business package of a particular solution has to be imported on it. eg. If you want to use CRM on portal you will have to import corresponding BP.

SRM server must be installed because it is the server where all SRM docs will be created.

R/3 or ECC depends on yr scenario.

2. There would be licence for EP server if i am not wrong.

4. There is some similarity between ECC trans and SRM trans you can say

eg BBPSC02 is similar to ME51N

I think you are talking about "Busines Package" for NetWeaver Portal.

Once you get concept for Portal, your question will be cleared.
