This is a question relating to NW Mobile 7.1, PDA development, NWDS SP05 P01
I want to create a query on the client that returns a single column of type string with several columns of the underlying table concatenated with some fixed strings added.
Example of standard SQL:
Select Col1 & " - " & Col2 from table where ...

Hi Andre,
in the 7.10 release, queries can only modelled using the existing query editor. Complex SQL statements as described by you cannot be defined.
But there is at least a way to serve your needs though it will have impact on performance of your application. The trick is to use a manually created context attribute in the UI Component which is used to bind the query output. The procedure is very similar to the instructions from my other posting:
Alternatively, you could also replace the DO node by a DataStructure in the query. The DataStructure should contain all required DO node attribute plus one additional manual attribute. By wrapping the query in a custom operation (just call it there), you can modify the result set before returning it in the custom operation by setting the value for the additional custom attribute. This attribute you can then bind to the UI control in the UI Component.

Stefan
