Hi,
i have to work out how to monitor business processes with sap solman for a student research project. My problem is, that i don't know how to start.
Could anyone please help me?
Sol.Man. is already configured (earlywatch, system monitoring) but there are no business processes added.
Best regards,
Tim
Hi Tim,
For BPM you have to define Business Processes in the T-code DSWP.
1. dswpsolution landscapeselect your solution--define business scenerios.
2. You can define your own business scenerios or you can choose from Business Process Repository also.
3. after defining Business processes there, go to operations setup--setup business process monitoring.
You can refer tutor related to BPM at this link

Thanks

Hi Tim,
You can follow the steps:
1. Go to DSWP and select your solution.
2. in Solution landscape click Solution landscape maintenance.you can see the solution directory here.
3.here you have to add logical components which includes systems in your landscape.
4. in solution structure expand the tree and click on Business scenerios.
5 here only you can define your scenerios i.e you can name the scenerios according to your requirement or you can select the scenerios from BPR at the source tab.
as soon as you save it your business scenerio will be created.
in those business scenerios similarly you can define business processes and process steps also.

you can refer this link it provides you the tutor for creating business scenerios step by step.
Hi Tim,
although you already considered your questions as answered I want to give you some other hint. The main documentation for Business Process Monitoring can be found under https://service.sap.com/bpm
There you find a Media Library. The sub-section Customer Information provides you for example some overview presentation (Business Process & Interface Monitoring - Part 2" which gives a comprehensive overview about what can be setup.
In the sub-section Technical Information you find setup documentation.
Regards
Volker
