Hi

Business System

1) Business system is a logical system, and there is an importance on physical existence of the system.

2) Also SLD entry is required.

3)It is generally used for SAP applications, this is just a general prinicple followed but not mandatory.

4)This is defined as part of the SLD and is a physical system whose parameters are well defined.

5(Business systems refers to the physical systems, for instance the R/3 system. You define the business systems in the SLD

Business Service

1) You use a Business Service, when you do not have the System details of the the partner system to which you want to communicate. i.e. you have not configured the partner system in SLD.

2) Business Service is an Absract Unit with Sender and Receiver Interfaces,In this case you need to explicitly add the message interfaces while doing configuration in ID.

3) It is generally used for NON-SAP applications, this is just a general prinicple followed but not mandatory.

4) This is not defined as part of SLD and whose technical parameters are not completely known.

5)Business service is used when the message is not addressed to a business system. It is used mostly in B2B scenarios.

Hi

When we have full details of application system the we are

going to use the business system and it is created in the

SLD so we dont have authorization to change the business

system name.

When we have partial details or no details of Technical

system then we r going to use the business service. it is

created in the ID. we can see and change it.

For example, if u want to download a file from a system

ABC, by using file adapter and then want to update the

content of this file into r/3 database by using RFc,then

the system abc and the r/3 will be ur business systems

i.e. they physically exists. Business Systems are

configured in SLD.

Business service is mostly used in B2B Scenario (cross-

component),where you don't know the Business System of your

partner. In other words business Service will be used only

for those partners which do not have a physical landscape

set up . Business servces do not have an entry in SLD.

Hi,

Business system will be created based on the technical details provided for a particular sytem in SLD.

For Ex: If your landscape has SAP ECC installed on a particular sytem.A Technical system with the ECC details will be created in SLD, On top of the Technical system a business system will be created, Here we can consider each client as a business system.

Business service will be created when there is not exact system details available for a particular system. It doesnt require any technical system to be defined. The Business Service is created in the Integration directory.

Thanks,

HI

Technical System and Business system

In the Systems Catalog we define each Technical system in the landscape. The technical System correlates the software to the physical host on which it is installed. The exact settings for each system depend on the system type.

Technical systems are the basis for defining Business Systems. The association between the Technical System and Business System is dependent on the TS type; for instance, in a system based on Web AS (ABAP), each client in the system is a separate Business System.

To create a Technical System definition there is a wizard interface in the SLD.

For defining Business Systems, the four important pieces of data are:

u2022Business System Name (must be unique in the landscape)

u2022Associated Technical system name, and if the Business System will be used with IDoc interfaces, a Logical System Name

u2022The Software Products (and associated SWCVu2019s) that are used by the Business System. The products are brought through from the Technical System definition; but for a particular Technical System, not all products will necessarily be associated with a particular Business System.

u2022The Related Integration Server.

All of these settings can be defined in the Business System Wizard.

Business system addresses a specific (Application) system in the SLD as a sender or receiver of the message. It will have the information about the inbound and outbound interfaces and SWCV.

Business service represents abstract, addressable units whose actual system landscape is not published or partially known.Business Service is a abstract representation of a System.

Business Service: Address an abstract business entity as the sender or receiver of messages.

Using a business service, you can define the technical or business subunits of the companies

involved and then assign them the relevant interfaces. The business services are used when configuring cross-company processes. If we donu2019t have sufficient information to create a Business System in SLD for Sender or Receiver then we can use Business Service in ID as shown in this example (Cross Company Environment).

Services

Services can be Business Services, Business Processes, or Business Systems.

A Business Service represents an abstract, addressable unit. Business services are used in cross-company processes, for example, if the parties involved have only published their interfaces and not their system landscape, or it is only partly known. Using a business service, we can define the technical or business subunits of the companies involved and then assign them the relevant interfaces.

Business system

It is a logical system from a business point of view.

One or more logical systems that belong together from a business point of view is called a group of Business system group. A business system group represents a unit within a company or organization that can be defined according to legal, economic, administrative or geographic factors.

The objects in a business system group are uniquely identified by a uniform numbering system.

Business process

Business procedure within an enterprise that uses resources and can involve activites from a number of different cost centers in a controlling area.

When executing a business process, activities can be utilized for several cost centers of a controlling area.

Business service

Itu2019s a third party system.

All these belong to a Business Scenario which is

Description of the flow of business processes according to a business typology. A business scenario represents a template for a business process, which runs within a particular area of a company process. All processes required to completely process the task are listed in chronological order in the scenario. Business scenarios can be described graphically, in either aggregated or detailed form (EPC). Example: Direct sale to industrial recipient

Dear Suman,

Business systems are logical systems that function as senders or receivers within the SAP Exchange Infrastructure. You configure business systems in the SAP System Landscape Directory (SLD). A business system is always associated with a technical system .

A Business service represents an abstract unit for addressing message senders and message receivers. You can use a business service to group interfaces.

It is useful to use business services when configuring cross-company processes. Usually, the interface descriptions of the business partners involved are made publicly available. The system landscape is only partly known, however.

Hi Suman,

Business system-->When we have full details of application system the we are going to use the business system and it is created in the SLD so we dont have authorization to change the business system name.

Physicals systems which use their communication channels and routing rules to communicate with other systems are called as Application Systems OR physical systems.

Business Service-->When we have partial details or no details of Technical system then we r going to use the business service. it is created in the ID. we can see and change it.

A Business Service is an Abstract Unit

(which is not in System Landscape Directory) addressing Senders and Receivers of Messages.

Hi suman

Business System : It is registered in SLD,We should have all the technical details to use it, A business system is something that physically exists. generally for R/3 applications

we use this one.

Business Service : When we don't have all the technical details partially then we use the

business service, it is mostly used for B2B scenarios.

Performance wise there is no difference.

If we know the all technical details tehn only we can create at SLD, without knowing all the

details we can't thats why we can create the business system in the ID
