Bin determination

HI guys,

WE are configuring WM for a process industry. Our requirement is that there is a closed warehouse (big warehouse). In this warehouse they keep the finished goods in packing of different weight. They only earmark certain places in warehouse. We are planning to configure as follows

1) The entire closed portion will be defined as a storage type

2) The earmarked areas will be configured as storage sections

3) We will have different types of bins in each storage sections

4) We dont activate SU management

Is it OK? Any suggestions on this

WE also have one more requirement. At the time of Goods REceipts the system should identify the bin no automatically. WE have activated the bin type search. But we are facing the following problem

Bin capacity is defined as 10 tons and each material weight is 100 kg. Suppose if we do goods receipt for 500 nos, each 100 nos of material should go to one bin no. While creating TO, we have to give 5 line items for 500 nos. Then only it is creating a TO. If gr qty is only 100 nos, it is finding out the bins automatically. Even if 23 give 5 lines items with each 100 nos also, system is finding out the bin numbers.

But our requirement is that, when we make a goods receipt for 500 nos, the system should split these into multiple line items based on capacity check configured and it should take the bin nos automatically

Hi

Have you tried using the LE qty in the WM 2 View of the material master.

For instance 100 pieces = 1 xxx

If you then receive 500 this will then suggest 5 X 100
