Capacity leveling

Hi,

I have two questions about capacity leveling:

1. What is the program that I can use for capacity leveling in background processing

2.I understand that the purpose of capacity leveling is to balance the capacity after Hueristic run.

If I run a location heuristic. Is there any way I can skip the capacity leveling and directly run deployment? or do i need to definitely run capacity leveling?

Hello ,

In APO 5.0 ,there is a seprate transaction for carrying out 'capacity levelling in 'background.

Refer to SAP menu , SNP - Planning - SNP in background.

Yes you can skip , the capacity leveling and directly run the deployment .

To carry out capacity leveling or not depende on business needs.

can you refer me to any scenarios where you don't have to do capacity leveling after Heuristic run?

is it in case when you don't care about capacity or is it in MTS scenario?

you sure can run Deployment after heuristics

you dont have to run capacity levelling after optimization or CTM

you dont have to run capacity levelling if you have infinite capacity or have fexible resources or can look at subcontractors to source excess requirements and your accountants dont care about the cost of capacity under-utilization

Running capacity leveling in the background is especially suited to large data volumes and complex models
