Risk involved in trasfering data from old SRM server to New SRM server

Hi All,

We have ongoing SRM server 5.5 and we are going to configure new SRM server 5.5. Now our clint want to transfer all ongoing SRM configuration to new SRM server 5.5. so finally we will have only one SRM server 5.5 i.e new SRM Server.

What are the risks involved when migrating from one SRM Server to other server?.

if the logical system names are undisturbed not much risk is seen.

you can still check the follow

- if any ITS template changes have been done on old server you have to manually redo the same on new server.

- need to check the transport of BADI implementations if any.

- RFC connections to and fro from ECC needs to be reconfigured in terms of IP address.

- master data (prod cats, prod masters, vendor masters, org structure) will be trasported or recreated on new server?

(safe is to recreate)

- backend ECC server is unchaged?
