hi gurus,
Is there any control key that how the system moves from backward scheduling to forward scheduling
thanks
raju
As a principle, in SAP standard system, system always starts with Backward scheduling first. In Backward scheduling system checks whether the customer's Requested delivery date can be confirmed or not.
If it can not confirm the customer's requested delivery date, then system immediately starts with Forward scheduling and gives the earliest possible delivery date, i.e the Confirm delivery date.

Hi
It moves from backward to forward scheduling ...only when the system fails to confirm the delivery dates for the Requested delivery date.
Thanks,
Ravi

Hi,
There is no control key for the system to do backward or forward scheduling.
these two are dependend on the material availability date and requested delivery date.
If the stock of the material is available , the system will do the backward schedule , if there is no stock the system will do the forward schedule.
the difference is the schedule line items in the sales order.
if one schedule line item then backward , if two schdedule line item in the sales order is two then forward scheduling
thanks
