Can anyone have an idea on archiving idocs?

Can we provide the frontend location to get the archived file.?

I'm unable to get the archived file from the archive directory. How it could be possible?

Can anyone suggest me in this?

Hi,

Data is usually archived via the central transaction SARA. In the case of IDocs, the corresponding tables are addressed via the archiving object IDOC.

Various processing methods are assigned to the archiving class IDOC: In the standard system, therefore, IDocs can be

Archived

Deleted from the database

Retrieved from an archive: From the initial screen choose Goto ® Retrieve

(Refer this http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/8d/3e4f9f462a11d189000000e8323d3a/frameset.htm)

IDoc archiving is a two-step process:

1. Archive the IDoc.

2. After that another job will be generated. You can see in your SARA for your trigger to delete those archived IDocs.

Have a look at transaction WE47, set "Archiving - Possible" for all statuses to be archived. Use transaction SARA with object IDoc to archive. If the above is set then all IDocs are archived the same way.

All of the IDocs generated by sales orders (message type ORDERS, IDoc inbound processing) in the month of January are to be archived and subsequently deleted from the database tables. To do this, choose the "Archive" processing method in the standard system and enter a time period and message type as report variants.

You can also access the central transaction SARA by choosing Tools ® Administration ® Administration ® Data Archiving. Here you enter the archiving object IDOC. When you select 'enter' the methods entered above are displayed for selection.

Also You can do the archiving of IDOC by using the program RSEXARCA.

Use tcode WE11...to delete the idcos

Hi,

Archiving IDocs

Use

IDocs are stored in several database tables. To keep these tables (and access times) small (to reduce the database load), without losing any IDocs, you can archive the IDocs at operating system level. These archives can then be moved to external storage media, such as disks (using ArchiveLink) or magnetic tape.

Prerequisites

In Customizing, you specify where the archive files are located physically (that is, which storage media are used). For more information, see Cross-Application Components (CA) ® Archiving Application Data ® Introduction to Data Archiving ® Customizing.

Hello,

You can do the archiving of IDOC by using the program RSEXARCA

Use tcode WE11...to delete the idcos

step by step:

)The archiving process starts by first establishing names for the archive files. Platform-independent file names can be maintained for the archive files via transaction FILE...

2) Once you have maintained the logical path name for the archive file, you need to maintain a logical name for the archive file.

3)Once you have maintained the archive file names, you are ready for the actual archiving process

4)RSEXARCA and RSEXARCB are archiving programs. RSEXARCB is similar to RSEXARCA except for the selection screen. The selection options for RSEXARCB are designed for periodic scheduling.

Just follow the links.
