Hi Everybody,

I have installed ECC 6 witrh SQL 2005 as 3 tire architecture in Distribution System Method.

Now i have to show the Performance diffrence between 2 tire & 3 tire Architecture to my Team Lead.how can i Distinguish the Application Transactions & Database level Transactions have been segregated in 3 tire architecture?

How can i check Performance exactly.in detail

Please advice me on this.

Also, what are the areas i have to look/work after installing SAP(ex. Buffers,TMS,...)

Points would not be rewarded

Thanks & Regards,

Siva

Hi

Post Install Activities are

1.Check Errors --> SM28

2.Configure or reconfigure TMS --> STMS

3 Check Directories --> AL11

4. Take file level Backup of all drives, particularly oracle installation folder, and Data drive.

5. Database backup --> using BRTools or any other backup tool

6.Change default password of DDIC & SAP*

7. Configure and Create Client --> SCC4 , Copy client localy SCCL(if you want to copy local client)

obiviously 3 tier archtecture will perform better, as u will have separate process and memory. If your compnays database size is very small you could go for 2 tier architecure to save hardware cost.

hi siva,

first of all, there is no method for installing TMS.

when we install SAP all the related settings exist internally.

all that we have to do is to configure them.

for TMS we use tcode stms to configure.

there are various tcodes for checking the sap system performance like

st02------sap buffer performance

st04-------db performance

st03-------workload performance.

sm04------users logged on to the particular instance.

like that we have various tcodes for the performance checking.

Normally, the database tcodes start with DB eg. db02,db01,db03,etc.,

application tcodes normally start with S like st02,st04,st05.,etc.,

coming to buffers , we need not to create buffers .

they already exist in the sap system.

we have to monitor them daily....

if u have more doubts on these topics , help will be assisted.
