Hi,
is it possible to create a webdynpro based business package and get it certified by SAP?
I understand there is an ESS business package based on web dynpro. I also understand that a business package must be deliver as an epa file and that you can only par files(and portal roles, worksets..) in the epa file.
Please any feedback on this issue.
kind regards,
Peter Ha
Hi Peter,
Yes . you can make a buisness package based on webdynpro.
You can go for a Powered by Netweaver certification
If you are going for a buisness package certification you will have to follow the guidelines set by SAP
Go to this link
http://sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/services?rid=/webcontent/uuid/ab919ce1-0601-0010-4384-f25a892e0dea [original link is broken]
One thing to have in mind is that SAP recommends the usage of standard function modules provided
Custom modules can be developed only if it is absolutely necessary. If you are developing custom modules you will have to go for an ABAP Add on certification. It will be quite expensive too.
See this link for more details on ABAP certification
You should first submit a project registration guide to the integration consultant assigned to you .You should also prepare full documentation of Portal and webdynpro components used . The naming conventions can be obtained from the Vendor Guide
You can also prepare documentation as to how to deploy the ear files of webdynpro applications through visual admin.
Transport the portal structure as a package and you can import it wherever necessary.
Hope this helps you

Hi Rohit,
thanks for your feedback.
We know already that you can create a business package based on web dynpro but the problem that we have is when reading the guides regarding the certification "Power by Netweaver", you have to submit your business package(bp) as an epa file.
And for webdynpro based bp, you cannot create an epa file, you have to create a SCA file and deploy it with sdm. So how can we get our bp certified if we cannot submit an epa for out bp?

Hi,
Yes you can and make use of the Components provided by SAP.
you have a forum dedicated to Integration and Certification and it would be better to post this question there
