batch job running much time after replatforming

we have done the replatforming (i.e from AIX to Linux)

Batch jobs that are running in Linux is taking much time than it has ran in AIX.

in AIX it has taken 7 hours for completing the job

but now in Linux it taking 11 hours.

when i compared the data for SAP AIX and SAP Linux, both are same.

for what reasons jobs are runnin too long in Linux.

Thanks in advance

Regards

Lucky

HI Martin,

Sorry for the late reply..... i was on vacation

when i checked in st03n transaction.

CPU Response time is 96.9%

DB Response time is 3.1%

in some other jobs

CPU - 99%

DB-1%

As AIX servers are gone crash i was unable to compare linux with AIX.

Thanks

How is the CPU utlization of your linux servers compared to your AIX servers? Have you sized your linux hardware based on your AIX server capacity?

previously we used DB2 and the remaining things are same.......we increased the size to 1500 Gb

when you use different DB and OS and maybe different hardware you can't compare the performance 1:1.

Do you know where the time is wasted? database or application? Use ST03N to have a look at these data.

After that you know where to search. Maybe, the DB is not running well...

best regards,

Did you use Oracle 10g before also? Same storage? Same distribution of data (number of files)? Are your database statistics up-to-date?

Hi Lucky,

Without any specific information we would have to guess from hundreds of variables what the problem could be. The fact that the data is the same means nothing.

Please supply us with more information - hardware, SAP version, Linux version, database version etc

Nelis
