Hi Friends,
what is Master Data Consolidation?
please explain this procedure with one good example?
please....
Hi,
Master Data Consolidation means:
1. Load master data from client systems
2. Identification and consolidation of similar or identical objects
3. Provision of key mapping for unified, company wide analytics and business operations.
4. It aggregate master data across SAP and non- SAP systems into a centralized master data repository. Once data is consolidated, you can search for data across linked systems, identify identical or similar objects across systems, and provide key mapping for reliable company wide analytics and reporting.
In this scenario, these are the following steps:
1. Users use SAP net weaver MDM to collect master data from several systems at a central location,
2. Detect and clean up duplicate and identical objects, and manage the local object keys for cross-system communication.
3.With this consolidated data, users can access the information they need to perform company-wide analysis and consolidated.
For example: Suppose Wipro have different branches like: Wipro Technologies, Wipro Limited, Wipro Infotech and each branch is doing business with the same customer. Each branch has its own name and is own id but overall it's a company called Wipro.
So, now if you see all these records are duplicate and hence give inconsistencies when this data is distributed in different departments of an organization. So we consolidate this data by sending it to MDM where all the information is consolidated, updated and managed properly.

Hi,
Data consolidation means to enrich the data after importing the data from all the diff. remote systems of diff. ares into one central management system: MDM.
Link:
The consolidation process includes following steps:
Preserving/Managing keys,Assignments,Validating (Compliance) of records according to business standards,Matching strategies making,Finding duplicates,Merging duplicates .
LIke you have a record about a Customer regarding accounts balance in three places A,B,C(Plants).
These Plants sell products to the customer. Then at all the places the accont balance should be same (updated). To have that the data from all is send to MDM whre these records are consolidated (as explained above) its address/acc summary, debt values are updated and merged to have a single instance of record while preserving the remote keys.

Hi,
what is Master Data Consolidation?
Conolidation means importing the data from different application systems ,
cleanse the data accroding to the rules and deduplicates the data.
Example:
Take one customer which has different branches located in different places
buying same items from same supplier. As there are multiple versions of supplier
and product details in different application systems ,lot of incostitencies are
happened such as customer don't know total items they are buying and How much
are they paying to supplier so that they can n't ask for price negotation from supplier.
Here consolidation imports the data from different systems located in different
places, deduplicates the data and gives the correct picture to the customer
so that they can go for price negotation from supplier.
Thanks
Narendra

Hi,
We use SAP MDM to collect master data from several systems at a central location, detect and clean up duplicate and identical objects, and manage the local object keys for cross-system communication. With this consolidated data, users can access the information they need to perform company-wide analyses and consolidated reporting.
It means importing all master data from one or more external system in to MDM and then removing the duplicacy and inconsistency in the Master Data.

Hi Rao,
Master Data Consolidation: It means importing all master data from one or more external system in to MDM.
Let me explain with one example: Say One company have a customer "RamachandraRao Veerisetty" and do business in 3 different countries. Now one have his Id and Name as 1 and R.R.Veerisetty. 2nd has 1 and R. Rao Veerisetty and 3rd 1 and RamachandraRao Veerisetty.
Now if you see all three records are duplicate but in three different countries and the customer is doing business in all teritories and hence give inconsistencies when this data is distributed in different departments of an organization. So we consolidate this data from all three countries, upto this point its consolidation of data and remove duplicates and then send a single record to all 3 locatios. Hence removing inconsistencies.
All this Importing and exporting is Harmonization.
