Error in PDF import

Hello,

Its urgent when i was importing pdfs it was giving an error during making and uploading pdfs.

Kindly state the reason and help!!

Hi Brad,

To solve this issue you have to make a change in repository setting i.e.right click on the repository in MDM console,u can see its settings make the option allow invalid pdfs as "Yes".Ur problem will be solved.

Hi,

While importing the record ,through import manager,

You have to just add a column and give the name of the pdf

related with the records.Well U can also add pdf name after wards and u can leave the column as blank.

For this u have to make a field in MDM console as" Look up pdf "type.

Hi Braddy,

You will have to import the Pdf's from the data Manager.

Please follow these steps:

1. Make the Pdfs table as your current table in the Data manager.

2. Right click->ADD

3. Import the Pdfs. ( For this, you will have to create a Data Group.)

You will find all the pdfs in the Pdf table of your repository.

After this, the next step is to link the PDFS to the Main table records. Either you can do it manually in Data manager for every record.

The other and a better way is to have a filed of Type - Look up Pdf. in the Main Table.

You should have a source in which records should have a Value for the Field - Look up PDF

Suppose, For ex in the Source you have

Name PDF

Customer 1 pdf1

Customer 2 pdf2

Then in import Manager do the Field mapping and the Value Mapping for PDF 1 and PDF2 with the PDFs that you have imported through Data manager.

Hence in Main table, you will find that with each record, you will have a pdf attached on the right hand side bottom.

From Console, Go to the Repository properties, Make

Allow invalid Pdfs - Yes

make this feature as Yes in Console for your repository. MDM allows only Valid Pdf as it is likely that your PDf fromat does not come in the Valid PDF.

I has happened with me also. Kindly make the property as Yes.

Hi,

Go to MDM Console -> Right Click on the Repository -> Select properties -> Mark the check box Allow Invalid PDFs
