SRM Product Category's Logical System

i found in comm_hierarchy and i felt weird for our product categories data.

in comm_category, our category_id is R3MATCLASSXXX (XXX = Dev system), but logsys field is Prod system. how can this be done? i thought the category_id and logsys should be the same?

Hi,

I am not sure I got you right.

But if you are talking about the change of logical system name required to be done so that your category id gets related to the right logical system then you will have to run the Tx bdls and give the old & new logical system names.These things are common when client copy is resorted to.

i meant data in production system, not qa system. i can see in table comm_category, field category_id = R3MATCLASSDxxCLNTxxx and logsys = PxxCLNTxxx. what does it mean?

Hi Glen,

The ID is autogenerated by system depending on the source system defined in middleware setting.

This should not happen unless somebody does system copy or change material master replication settings from dev to prod. If none of these cases are applicale to you, I will suggest you to raise an OSS.
