Can anyone tell me; how and when VKEP table is filled?

It could be VEKP, you would have mispelled as VKEP and there is not standard table in sap as VKEP.
VEKP is the handling unit header table. It is updated when you do the packing activities in delivery.

This table will be updated when you do the packing activity with handling units in the delivery document.

Hi anjali,
VEKP Table is SD Docuemnt Shipping Unit header.
It is linked with VEPO table which is SD Document Item Table.
VEPO is directly linked to LIKP which is delivery header.
When we make delivery and do Packing these all tables get updated.SAP updates lots of tables simultaneously,

I didnt find any table named VKEP in SAP. Please Confirm the name.
I think ,There is no such type of table in the standard system
