Dear All,
We are in the middle of SAP implementation.
OS :Windows 2003 Server
Database : Ms SQL Server 2005
SAP Versions: ECC 6.0, Solman 7.0 and SAP BW
I am at client site, and the client is asking query regarding the antivirus scanner for SAP. I have referred SAP note: 786179,639468,106267 and 79718.
But, didnu2019t get into any conclusion regarding this. I have got list of 3 SAP certified antivirus scanners for SAP from http://service.sap.com/securitypartners
1. Whether the antivirus scanner is required?
2. What should I suggest to the client?
3. If we are implementing the antivirus scanner, whether this will affect the performance?
4. Whether the SAP servers need to be connected to the internet?
Please help me on this.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Abu Sandeep
Hi
It is not a mandatory thing. But if you are using a lots of interfaces (XI or external tool) and a lots of data is being transferred then it can be a handy tool. I would say you would be free of any damages to SAP system because of those files.
If clients needs you to install this Virus Scanner then for that you can suggest them to install on a seperate system.
This would not then hinder in the performance of ur current systems.
No I donot think SAP Servers needed to be connected to Internet.
