how to set the delivery date for schedule line item in sales order.

Hi Mani

System decide this confirm delivery date in the schedule line automatically based on delivery scheduling. In delivery scheduling system takes into consideration, the Transit time, Loading time, Transportation lead time & Pick/pack time and calculates the delivery date.

Shipping process starts with either on the "Material Availability date" or the "Transportation Planning date", whichever is earlier.

Now system adds up the other lead times (mentioned above) and calculates the date on which goods will reach at the customer and this is the confirm delivery date.This is the earliest possible date you can assure the customer for goods receipt.

So this you can not change to earlier date, ofcourse you can choose a later date.

If you go to t-code vov8 and choose the order type that you need to set the delivery date for, there just below the billing details is details for " requested delivery date/pricing date/purchase order date", and if you look right under that there is a field for Lead time in days, that is where you can set the days you desire for your delivery date.

In sale order at item level, you can see a field [First Date]

While creating sale order, by default, system will throw some date depending upon the settings you made in IMG. If you change this date, that date will be your delivery required date. You can do delivery on this date if stock is made available.
