provide me the conceptual details of delivery scheduling
what it is all about
Dear Rahul
Planning delivery schedules have been developed to bring efficiency and manageability to the material planning and shipping processes. In addition to forecast and just-in-time (JIT) delivery schedules, Release 4.0 contains this new delivery schedule type for the component supplier industry. The planning delivery schedule is an internal delivery schedule that has been designed to help you:
- Plan requirements for future periods not covered by forecast and JIT delivery schedules
- Plan requirements when weekly or monthly delivery schedules sent in by the customer are not detailed enough, and are therefore unsuitable for planning
- Plan requirements independently of inaccurate or unreliable forecast delivery schedules sent in by the customer
- Plan requirements in advance, before having even received forecast delivery schedules from a customer
