what is rectritcred stock and unrestricted stock ?
regards
Hi Santosh,
Restricted-use stock
A valuated stock of a material managed in batches physically held by a company (and belonging to that company), usage of which is subject to certain restrictions.
This category of stock is only used when batch status management is active.
Unrestricted-use stock
The valuated stock of a material held and owned by a company that is not subject to usage restrictions.
I hope it will clear for you,
Regards,
Murali.

Dear Santosh
If a particular stock is restricted for certain transactions, it is called restricted stock.
If a particular stock is open and can be consumed by others without any restriction is called unrestricted stock.
thanks

In simple language. Un-restricted stock is the Normal stock ready for sale.
Restricted stock is stock which has certain restrictions, sometimes it is also called as block stock. For example, if the customer has returned the goods due some complaint and even if the goods are in right condition, still it will go to block stock first. It is a restricted stock now. The authorised department will varify and if they will approve then only it can be included in the normal/un-restricted stock. Then it can be sold.
