Urgent:Encoding Type

We have a interface File to file in which we are picking up the file from the ftp server. We have three different files provided.

In FCC we are passing the whole data as a single row.

We have tried different encoding of the files - UFT-8, UTF-16

and also ISO-8859. The two files are showing exact data which we want in our destination directory but one file is showing special characters like this

A part of that

It is not supporting any encoding type.

HI,

The UTF-16 OR ISO-8859, cover many special characters. Plesae can you confirm about which language it have used in the file or type of special characters. That will make more specific to use specific Encoding parameters.

Thanks

Hi,

Better try this way and its work.

While you picked the file form FTP and marked as transfer parameter Text.

This is way you can bale to handle the encoding types.

Thanks.

Hii...

Even I have faced similar kind of problem.

The input file had Greek characters.I have tried all these value in communication channel parameter

ISO-8859-1,UTF-16,ISO-8859.But communication channel was not able to read the file.

But it worked fine, when I saved the file as 'UTF-8'.

Steps:

-->Open your original file

-->Click on Save As

-->Select the Encoding as UTF-8

This is not practical for automatic processing.

Why you do not simply ask the provider of the file, which encoding it has, instead of guessing?

And when you guess, try a codepage which at least has greek characters inside, like ISO-8859-7.

Dear Mahajan,

If no conversion is done to\from XML configure the sender comm. channel
