Hi all,
There seems to be a lot of confusion about making a Document Type in SAP DMS a "PRT" document type.
The answer is quite simply that there is no indicator in DMS Document Type config that will allow you "mark" a document type as a PRT.
Alternative ways to identify and isolate a document type as a PRT is to either add "PRT" as part of the document type description, or, to create a document type and give t the name PRT.
Other than that, there is no other way to indicate it as a PRT.
I hope this answer helps.

Hi Bhanu,
u can create thru user menu and the steps are,
spro>Sap Reference IMG tab>cross-application components>document management>control data>define document types>New Entries
here u can select the appropriate attributes for the doc type as per requirement.
thru T-Code:
dc10-->New Entries
hope this may help u..
Thank You,
Manoj

hi bhanu ,
I think your requirement is , to make use of doc as PRT in production or in other functinality.
you can use any doc type as PRT.
make the doc type by t code DC 10 , make the DIR and call that DIR in PRT.
