PPDS Optimizer and product Heuristic in Product View

We are using make-to-order strategy, whenever sales order comes in respective planner run product heuristic from product view with a strategy defined as "find slot" with finite capacity plus backward+reverse. Schedule Mode as schedule dependent operations according to scheduling mode.

Usually product heuristic matches planned order with the sales order requirements date however, once optimizer run on a nightly basis it pushes out farther than the sales order requested date. Optimizer is using priority of orders into consideration. I checked for high priority orders it is not happening but for others which are by the way 98% of orders are pushing out.

Any thoughts or suggestions...

Hello ,

In the optimizer profile , there is tab for "Basic settings ".

In this there is check box for "Backwards Scheduling ", if this is selected and optimizer is executed , the system tries to create the orders close to "requirement date".

However the various costs maintained will also affect the scheduling.
