Hello, somebody can inform me, as which is the best strategy to send faxes, with a SAP R/3 Enterprise? I have installed an Exchange Server and WinFax pro v8..

We need a third party software solution?

Thanks in advance...

Hello Alex,

I recently decommissioned the use of Winfax pro at my site. Winfax does not return confirmation messages back to SAP, so I was constantly getting end user requests to verfiy whether a fax did or did not reach its destination. In addition, I spent way too much time rebuilding the database every month or so.

My company implemented Venali's Intenet Fax Service last year. Here is a link: http://www.venali.com/solutions/integration/sap.php. This solution does not require you to maintain an in-house fax application solution; rather, you establish a VPN connection to Venali, then Venali registers their service in your SAP system's gateway. This solution has been extemely stable for us and extremely cost effective when you factor in applicaiton and server support and maintainance costs associated with an in-house managed solution. Venali charges a per page fee.

Check out the link above.

Hello Alex,

I don't have experience with WinFax. We use RightFax. For RightFax you just maintain a RFC Connection in Transaction SM59 and then setup SCOT. Rearly easy. In this post I've described the steps: .

Hello Alex,

I don't think there is a "best" strategy or product but there are "different" solutions:

- you can connect SAP system via sapconnect (transactions SCON, SCOT, ...) or

- you can also install a (special) printer in the SAP which is linked

to a third party solution.

There are several documentations about this topic.

Check http://help.sap.com and http://service.sap.com
