Hi Experts,
Is there any separate Tcode to create Merchandise Category Reference articles in IS-RETAIL system.
Whether Merchandise Category reference article is created as normal article in MM41 only?
Whether we can assign any of the article that is created in that merchandise category as reference article in WG21 (or) is there any separate Tcode to create Reference articles.
During Retail Implementation projects, how Merchandise Category reference article are handled???
Any Input is highly appreciated.
Thanks and Regards,

Hi Selvakumar,
no sorrym ther eis no special TCODE for that. You have to use the WG21 or WG22.
You can create reference articles using IDOC or BAPI and article type 30.
Reference MC articles are used like the ref. articles in MM41 (last field on start screen)
They are used as a TEMPLATE!!!!
Changes on reference articles will have no change impact on articles created by them.
It doesn't matter if it is a normal article or reference MC article. The system
Will use the entered ref. article in MM41 as template. If this is empty, system reads the MC reference
article and if this is emtpy you have to maintain a lot of fields

Hi Selvakumar,
There is no separate Tcode for MC Ref Article.
After Creating MC in WG21 go to WG22 click the button MC Ref Article which will take to Article Creation
MM41. Here for this MC you will create an Article Master which will default values for subsequent Article
Masters.
For every MC you need to maintain Mandatory Field MC Ref Art in WG22/WG23.
Hope this helps you.

Hi Indira Sevananda,
Create Merchandise Category Reference article manually in WG21 transaction.
Then assign the same Merchandise Category Reference Article to all other Similar MC's in WG22 Transaction.

If you're looking to create the MC RefArts via BAPI/IDoc, I would use IDoc type ARTMAS05 with method RetailMaterial.Clone for business object BUS1001001 (see TCode SWO1 for this business object and list of methods). This works like a charm for LSMWs, assuming you can get your input structure correct and have all of the data to set up the MC RefArt. In all honesty, though, I would manually create the MC RefArts via the MM41/WG21/WG22 method that others have proposed. Hopefully your hierarchy is not so huge that manually creating fifty or a hundred or even two hundred MC RefArts is out of the question.
Hope this helps.
