Hi Guys,

Am having quiet strange oucomes with this FTP Adapter , Here i would like to share and get feedback and u r views too so that i can understand it's behviour normal r not.

I was said that FTP cannot support Wild Card *.xml , is it right ?? it worked for me with wildcard.

I saw some commenting it would pick up only one file if we use *.xml , but for me all files got picked up and got processed .

Guys b4r when i was using FTP it was not picking using Wildcards so i went with using ?????.xml.

So i decided test today mask option , and by eleminating one by one in the end i found just *.xml is working

views would be nice on this

with regards

Srini

Hi,

In the Source Tab, the File Access parameters(Source Directory,File name & Advanced Selection for source name) would be same for both FTP and FILE Transport Protocols.

So we can utilize this Advanced Selection in either of the cases, wherein if u give a name with WildCards in File Name, the same can be modified by including Exclusion marks.

go through this,

well as far as wildcard goes, yeah they both(FTP and NFS) support same functionality but they are not identical in other terms, for e.g you can't use OS commands on FTP,you can't use Msecs to wait before message processing etc

Thanx

HI,

I am not sure where you have heard that the wild cards or placeholders are not working with sender file adapter. May be you might have dela with older versions.

But as far as I know, XI supports the wildcards or place holders like * or ? etc. even you can Specify an Exclusion Mask for the file name specified.

Please see the tab Advanced Selection for Source File in below link

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/e3/94007075cae04f930cc4c034e411e1/frameset.htm

in case of NFS

Also look at the additional files option - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/3c/b4a6490a08cd41a8c91759c3d2f401/content.htm

File Name Mask
