Hi Friends,

In free goods condition record NA00, in calculation rule field, there are 3 options - Pro rata; unit reference; Whole units.

Please give an example for each calculation rule as to how system should calculate if we select one of the options.

Thanks

Hello,

There are three standard rules in SAP for free goods calculation, there are, 1. Prorata ( Propotional), 2. Unit reference, 3. Whole Units.

A company offers free goods to their customers when they order certail materials. When a customer buys 100 numbers of a product, he gets 20 numbers free.

1. Rule 1 ( Prorata)

In this rule, if the customer order for 162 pieces, the system calculates 32 to as free goods ( 162 X 20/100).

2. Rule 2 Unit Reference:

When you maintian this rule, the above scenario becomes: The customer get only 20 as free goods. (100 X 20/100), as the system will consider as 20 free for every full 100 purchased.

3. Rule 3, whole units:

If you maintian this the sstem will give only 0 as free because it will not consider 162 as it is not the multiple of 100.

Lets say you are offering to supply 3 units of free goods for every 100 units ordered

Lets say customer orders 226 units.

Using the rules system would calculate in following way

Rule 1 Prorated: 226* (3/100) = 6.78 = 7 (rounded up)

Rule 2 unit related: 200*(3/100) = 6 (system calculates in units of 200. since 226 are ordered, it calculates for 200 units)

Rule 3 whole units: 0 free goods since 226 is not a complete unit of 100

Hi Kamesh,

I created a NA00 record as per your example.

When i created sales order, system is determining free goods as 8 for first rule and 7 for second rule. For third rule it is working good.

I am not getting results as per your example.

Is it because of rounding rule problem?

Please try to help in resolving this error.

Thanks

Could you post back how you entered information in NA00 record?

I feel you are not entering data correctly in NA00 record.

I am sorry to say that what you have done is completely wrong.

I don't know why you entered 30 in 'From' field and 1 in 'are free goods' field.

I presume that you have already calculated the ratio as for every 30 items, 1 item as free good. That's not correct. You should leave the calculation part to system.

The scenario is you are offering to supply 3 units of free goods for every 100 units ordered.

So for every 100 units ordered 3 are free goods.

From field would have entry 100

Free goods field have entry as 3

Minimum qty field : you can enter any quantity as per your requirement

check this for other rules also and see whether it works.
