dear all,

the scenario is as following:

there is a material ( for example: suger) is included into two bill of materials (two kinds of durgs) depending on quality of this material (if suger is white it will be used in dry syrup, but if it is off-white it will be used in liquid syrup

i want that U.D. will control usage if this material (to be used in which BOM)

what can i solve this issue????

thanks

mayada

Hi Mayada,

Possible but not 100% with UD only. You wiil be needing to do followingssssssss.

Pre-requisite :- You must be batch managed, if not pls read further for your personal information only.

1. Create Codes (QS41) and two codes for them represents the values of Sugar "White" and Off-White"

2. Create a Selected Set (QS51) and assign the code group to it.

3. Create a Characteristic (CT04). "Color Of Sugar", assign the selected set to the characteristic.

4. Create a Batch Class (CL01) and assign the characteristic to the batch class and the batch class to the material "sugar".

5. Create a MIC (QS21) as Class Characteristic, by entering the characteristic "Color Of Sugar", so the MIC will become reference characteristic, and will read the Selected set attached to the characteristic, as per step num. 3

6. Now Assign this MIC to any of the operation of the Inspection plan for the material "Sugar". Now what will happen is when the inspection lot will triggered, and U will do RR, and what ever the value ("white" or "Off-White") you select fort the MIC, will migrate to the batch for that particular lot. in the batch class under characteristic "Color Of Sugar". by this way you can well segregate your inventory also.

But still we are half only

7. Now in BOM (CS01/CS02) for both the materials, select the line item for the material "Sugar", and go to Extras--->Batch Classification and select appropriate value ("White" or "Off-white") that you want to allowed for the material "Sugar" in this BOM.

Similarly do it for another BOM also.

8. Now create a batch search strategy (COB1), here select the appropriate option combination populates in the initial screen.

8.1. Then do the same as you have done in BOM, I mean enter material "Sugar", and click on the Selection criteria button, and enter the Batch Class created in the step:4.

Now when ever you will be issuing material against BOM, it will read the characteristic value (White or Off-White) for the batch and represent the relevant batches only.

Hope the scenario is clear to you. Best Of luck.

Regards,

Shyamal
