problem in creating customer material info record

Hi

I am creating customer material info record but getting following error "Proposal from cust master record not possible w/o specifying a division".

There is no provision for Division in this record.

I have no idea as to why system is giving this error.

How to resolve this error?

Next time you get this error, double click on that error message so that you could have more information system is providing like Message no, Diagnosis & Procedure to resolve this error. Most of the errors can be solved by following the diagnosis / procedure prescribed to resolve the error.

To solve your problem, go to material master record, transaction MM02 and assign the division of the material in division field.

Now go back to your customer material info record and create the record.

Most probably, the material which you are trying to assign to customer has not been created in the Division in which the Customer is assigned. To check this, please go to MM02, input the material code select Basic Data 1 view and click the green tick below. Now check in which division the material is created. Ensure that the customer's sales area is also the same sales area.
