Hello,
I was searching quite a lot on the web , but so far no luck to find a full step by step for installing SAP IDES 4.7x200 on Linux and Oracle. I found a lot for windows and a few for Linux and freebsd but for different version. If you can point me out some, I will be very thankful
Thanks in advance,
Peter
Hey Markus,
I know the guides, but the guide is too general for all Unix and Linux favours.
And from my experience shows that something alwats goes wrong SAP and Linux I installed 4.6 C Ides on Suse in 2002 and the battle was heavy :-0

Hi Peter,
I installed my first Linux system years ago (4.5B) and at that time is was really a battle - true. But nowadays, sapinst does most of the work for you and all various *NIX systems are no more that different.
- you start sapinst and install a central instance
- you start sapinst again and install a database instance and proceed, until sapinst prompts you to install the database
- you install Oracle 9.2.0.x, you install patchset 9.2.0.8, you install the latest interim patches
- you proceed with sapinst
This is unique across all the *NIX flavors.
Markus
