hi gurus
My sd dept is attaching drawings to sales order,
i want to know how to see them in production order, please tell me if any settings required.

you can use object linking functionality for this

Use object link.
Go to SPRO setting.
Select Cross Application Component
Then Document Management
then Control Data
then execute Define Document type
Select the Document type which you need to link with sales order & purchase order.
Select Define object link
In obeject link you maintain the following object
PORDER for Production order &
VBAP for Sales document item
In Document info record created by transaction code CV01N,
You need to attach the drawing & maintain Production order & sale document item details in object link.

thanks fro the reply, but there is an option of attaching any kind of doc in the sales order by jus giving a parameter for the user.
can we see the same attachment in the planned order or production order.
the client to whom i am working is a foundry industry, he manufactures the material according to the design send by the customer(MTO) which can be in any format.
please help me with your valuable inputs

If You had mentioned the Production order & sales item code in the DIR object link.
You can retrieve document from sales item & production order if the link is maintained in DIR
Prerequisite
Define Document type with object link sale item & production order
Procedure
Create the document using t-code CV01N.
Upload your drawing &
enter the sales item code & production order details in object link tab.
Save the document.
Result
Will will be able to retrieve information(drawing) of the document from
both sales item & production order.
