Hi all,

In my company we had ECC 6.0 deployed on HP-UX box, recently i took charge of SAP servers.

all SAP users using SAP GUI (sap gui 710 with patch level 5) on their work stations to access SAP.

how can we access SAP in browser (internet explorer) ?

what changes has to be performed in ECC 6.0 ( parameters or any add-on for HP-UX environment) ?

What is SAP GUI for JAVA ? what is the advantage of this ?

request you to give information on the deployment and configuration of sap access via explorer .

Which will be faster in access (especially on slow internet connection, if users accessing form WAN through sap-router) ?

thanking you all

Hi

SAP on Intenet Explorer is not a big deal now. As we have inegrated its in it:

Main link https://websmp101.sap-ag.de/sapgui

Check for the tcode SICF and navigate thorugh the nodes to check

http://<hostname>:<http port>/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui is activated.

Refer this link

http://help.sap.com/bp_epv260/EP_JA/documentation/How-to_Guides/WAS/Enabling%20the%20SAP%20GUI%20for...

Please refer this guide for SAPGui for Java

ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sapgui/java/documents/PlatinGUI-TechEd2000.pdf

And finally check for this (choose the SAPgui)

Hi,

My current SAP environment is ECC 6.0 with ABAP only ( JAVA was not deployed at the time of implementation) environment is HP-UNIX with oracle 10G database.

wether JAVA deployement is very much needed to access SAP via browser ?

Hi

No Java deploement is not required for SAP access via IE.

SAP can be accessed by Internet Explorer by the help of Integrated ITS which is present at the ABAP side.

You have to just activate the services in SICF tcode.

If Java is not there, then it doesnot means that you would not be able to access SAP via IE.

Its BSP based access, where Java is not coming into picture.

Just follow these steps:

Tcode SICF --> Execute (F8) --> Default host --> SAP --> bc --> gui --> sap --> its --> webgui (Right click and activate)

Then again right click on this service and click "Test Service".

If everything is ok, you will get the logon screen, else you will get the error and sap note to refer or services to activate...Just follow same like above and again test the WEBGUI service.
