Hi

You can check the results of the TOR using Tcode MD04 - Requirements List. If it is Individual Requirements, then you can see that against the sales order in MD04.

Both the functionalities are closely associated. They are controlled globally at Requirement Class level and locally at Schedule Line level.

When you create the sales order for a particular material and for a certain quantity, the availability check happens before saving the order---and the requirements are transferred only when the order is saved and the stocks will be reserved. If you cancel that order creation without saving, though availability check has taken place TOR will not happen and the stocks will not be reserved for this order.

Unless the situation demands, it is not good to use only AvCheck and not TOR because, during av check the system proposes a delivery date and if the quantities are not reserved for this order, on that date of delivery the stocks may not be available and we may not fulfill the delivery commitments which leads to disputes with the customers.

Hope it gives you some clarity on this.

Thanks,

Ravi
