BRCONNECT Issue

Hi,

I’m fairly new to SAP and having an issue installing the central instance of Netweaver 2004s on Oracle 10.1 under Windows 2003. I’ve searched SDN/OSS/ MS support and Oracle Tech network but can’t find any reference to this issue.

The installation aborts at step 23 (of 43), this is the stage for <b>“creating database synonyms for update of database statistics “</b> This stage is a post load activity after Oracle database schema is created and the ABAP/Java is imported.

Here are more details of the error & extracts from the install log/brconnect log

Windows popup error message says. <i>Brconnect.exe entry point Not Found. The procedure entry point WSACleanup could not be located in the dynamic link library orauts.dll</i>

BRCONNECT Log

BR0801I BRCONNECT 7.00 (9)

<i>BR0999E Loading of SQL client library orasql10.dll failed - please check Oracle configuration</i>BR0310E Connect to database instance MEM failed

When I execute the brconnect.exe directly I get the same message – loading of SQL client library orasql10.dll failed.

I’ve installed the Oracle database as detailed in the SAP install guide and I’ve installed using the latest SAP Install files/DVDs.

Any help/guidance will be greatly appreciated !!

Cheers

Pars

Hello,

I think you must use Oracle 10.2 as a minimum. This is true for an upgrade to 2004s but although I am pretty sure, I cannot tell if it applies to a new installation.

Please check the prerrequisites at the NW2004s installation guide.

Hope it helps,

Eduardo.

HI:

I was able to solve this by installing the patch that comes with the Oracle DVDs.

The patch takes Oracle up to 10.1.0.4

Atleast this did the trick for me!

Make sure if you can install it on oracle 10.1.

I got a similar error when I tried to install nw04 on oracle 10. But i am not sure about nw04s. Also, please check the docs too.

Hi,

1. Do test the for perfect Oracle Db installation based on the installation guide.

2. Search for SAP Notes in SAP Service Market place based on this error or Netweaver 2004s installation problems
