Hi guys:
Is XI 3.0 inbuilt in NW 2004 ? I have IDES 6.0 and NW 2004, can I set them up in seperate computers, would you please tell me how?

Hi ,
Yes u can install NW2004 for IDES 6.0 but on different instances.But at the same time you cant install XI3.0(NW 2004) in R/3 or in ECC. As you know XI is an integration broker. So, you need to isntall XI3.0 and also ECC5.0 or 6.0 in another instance.Because XI will pull an idoc from ECC and it will process and send to another application as you want. You cant install XI3.0 in ECC6.0. You need both, so through ECC software install ECC6.0 and with an netweaver software install XI or PI.

Go to -- > http://service.sap.com/instguidesnw .In the navigation panel, choose the path SAP Netweaver -> Release 04 -> Installation. Then pick your database from the main section of the screen.
Yes you can set them up in same computer. For installation guide , please refer above links.
