Sender System (e.g.SAP) will be having Output folder and
Receiver System will be having Input folder.
Please get these folders created through Basis with all access rights.

Hi Murali,
the input floder and the out put floder are not fixed for each and every scenario
the input floder depending on client requirements SAP XI just acts as middleware from transfering the data from one system to other.
For example if we working for SOAP to RFC while developing thr scenario we mention the input and output floder in communication profile for the sender and receiver system.
if found worth pls do the req
Thanx

Hi,
In general , sender and receiver systems are different.
If you are in training , it may be the same , these two should be in Server -folders and these folders should be shared.
Special requirement - Through FTP (self installed on your local system - yu can create folders in you local system )

Chilla

Hi Murali,
Both folders you can keep in your system or if you have OS level access of XI server then you can keep the folders in XI system also. Its no problem.
Thanks,
Satish

Hi Murali,
Fro your testing purpose you can keep the folders in XI System if you have the OS access. otherwise you have to give the folder name of the client including client IP also.
EX:- in Receiver communication channel you need to give the outbound directory name as follows.
10.10.10.51\OutputFolder
Then the file will moves to the OutputFolder of 10.10.10.51 client.
Thanks,
Satish.
