Portal restart required to show MDM datamodel changes in MDM iViews?

When we make a change to the MDM data model:

-add an extra attribute,

-change a field type,

-etc.

this change will not appear on the MDM iViews in portal until we restart the entire portal.

Our Basis team tried clearing cache, but this didnot seem to work.

Is there a single portal component we can restart (or cache we might have failed to clear) so we don't have to restart the entire portal instance on each MDM change.

Hi,

This should not happen first of all. Instead of restarting portal try to refresh the MDM System once or try logoff-login on portal.

Hi,

I agree to what Jitesh said...even if you make any changes in MDM Data Model, the changes should immediately reflect after a relogin. Check whether your System is getting connected successfuly after you make the changes.

Do you need to restart the whole of Portal every time you make any changes?

Becky.

Tried that already though... but from your answer I read this is abnormal behaviour?

For clarification I am talking datamodel, not data. Data is updated realtime in portal. It is just fields added/deleted to tables which requires the restart.

If anyone knows any components I can try to restart... it would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Jurjen
