can we have more than one mdm server on the same machine
Hi,
No it is not possible to install more than one server on the same machine because when you mount the server you need to give the computer name or 127.0.0.1 IP address and hence it tefers to only one server which is the latest installed on your machine. But you can install GUI Clients of different versions on one machine just you need to change the installation path otherwise it overwrites the previous installations.

Hello Krishnareddy,
With SAP NW MDM 5.5, you may not have more than one of any MDM server on the same machine.
Different MDM servers (MDS, MDIS etc.) may share the same machine.
Hope this helps,
Simon

Hi Manian,
Its very much possible. When you right click on any repository name, you will see an option "Archive repository". This will create an a2a file for the repository (containing the schema of repo and data as well). On completion of archive, you will get a pop up msz in console that archive is cmplete. This a2a file will be stored at the location program files->SAP MDM 5.5->Server->Archives. From this folder you can copy this file and paste it in to the same location for the second server. Make sure the secong server is either of the same version as first one or higher version. Then on the second server, right click on the server name and choose the option unarchive repository. You need to provide DB user credentials for this. You can give a new name for the repository if you want to create a new repo or give already existing repo's name if u want to replace an existing repo with the new data and schema. Choose the recently copied a2a file from the drop down below and say ok. It will take some time and gives u a message saying that repo has been unarchived.
Hope this is clear.

Dheeraj.
My question is: Why would you want this? You can have several repositories (product, vendor, material, ...) on one server.
Best regards
Christian
