We use SAP transaction CMOD and SMOD to manage exits. Before implementing an exit, it is required to create the project by using CMOD selecting the enhancement e.g. V45A0002 and selecting the component i.e. the exit which will be implemented in SMOD and after coding has been done the project has to be activated.
