whats the puprpose of LO and in which scenario do we use this?

What are the pre and post document for LO?

Hello,

One possible scenario is the complaints processing. If the delivred goods having some complaint and we don't want it to take it back to our stock becasue of various reasons

(like.. freight cost), we can give a substitute material with delivery without having an order reference. The transaction code is VL01NO. This is one of the possible sceanrio for delivery without order reference.

You can create outbound deliveries without referring to an order. This function is designed for activities such as the R/2-R/3 Link or for when order processing is carried out on another system. When you create a delivery without reference to an order, you must enter the ship-to party and the materials manually. Data is copied into the document from the appropriate master records. The system does not check whether the data is complete. Therefore, you can create a delivery without specifying a delivering plant or a storage location, for example.

So friends,

Does it mean whene we are working within R/3, LO will not be used ?

LO is rewuired only when Delivery has to be processed between No SAP and SAP system or R/2 and R/3 system?

R/2 to R/3 and Non-SAP to SAP are not only the scenarios where LO is used.

It can also be used to send free samples of the new launched products to the customers using only R/3.

That was one example, and anotther Examples may be,

When you want to send Free Sample of newly launched Product,

Donation to some charitable Org.
