Hi George,
Where is the problem? SU01D is the display version of SU01 and the tabs are greyed out without considering more authority.
It lets you grant access to display more users than what you are authorized to change, or assign roles to, on the grounds that you have previously been able to display the user's name somewhere else and that "somewhere else" did not intend on the navigation permitting any changes. For that (changes), there is transaction SU01_NAV. As an example, if you have a reference user assigned to a user in SU01, then you can double-click the user ID on the roles tab and it will be display only, as that is all it was intended to do when navigating.
Of course, the "display only" status is no reason to grant change / create / etc access unnecessarily...

PS: There is a very subtle little change possibility (or more correctly stated, a "reset possibility") in transaction SU01 which is the same in SU01D: See SAP note 23342 solution # 5.

My question was not clear--
Its not the view button but"VIEW FORMS " button Thats there ( I am not speakign of the pair of glasses thats there ) ..notmally this button is present ..but now its greyed out..
Now got it Juluis ??

Didn't even know there was a "View Forms" tab or button... all I have is Address, Logon data, Defaults, Parameters, Systems, Roles, Profiles, Groups, Personalization and LicenceData...

Try checking in version management or SPAU whether someone has made some modifications to the screen.
