Hello All,

Is it possible to successfully remote client copy a client in an ECC IDES 6.0 into a regular ECC 6.0 system?

Yes (this is theoretically possible). You should be able to do this but you must make sure that the support pack levels match. Can I ask why you want to do this? Is it to pull data into your DEV or Test systems?

We did this and we're having major issues, specifically with the system now having the look of the IDES system, and some public sector mangement IMG nodes not showing up (text "node text not found" is displayed instead). I'm wondering whether this is even a viable option? Originally I thought as you are thinking but it doesn't seem the case.

We need to copy the client from an SAP demo system which was an ECC IDES system.

Yeah. I think everything would have been okay if you were just using the standard ECC modules (FI/CI/MM etc.). PS is a different beast from those!

Out of curiosity, have you tried making any changes through the switch framework (if that is even possible)?

Thanks,

Joe

The only thing I've done with the switch framework is activated the public sector extensions...

Hello,

I think your IDES comes in preconfigured with lot of settings. So when you copy a preconfigured client into a external ECC , you are bound to have some inconsistencies.

If you wish to provide SAP Demo, why don't u provide access to the SAP IDES itself.

Hi Fahad,

When you getting "Node Text Not Found" Insted of proper name in IMG structure, this is only because of the missing entries in database.

These entries can be transported from any other system(QA/SANDBOX)

within the landscape.

The whole IMG structure will have to be transported into target system

Transport the complete IMG structure

from any system in which all IMG activities are displayed properly into

the DTarget system.

Steps to transport an IMG structure are:

1. Logon to the QA/Sandbox system (in which the structure is displayed

properly.

2. Call SIMGH transaction. Select the IMG Structure

3.Click on the transport button and record this into a transport request

4. Go to transaction SE38 and run the report RSIMG_COLLECT.

5. Select this particular IMG

and check the option "Include sub-structures".

6. Execute the report which generates a piecelist (when it asks for a

a piece list, create one and save it in your package )

7. Include this piecelist into the transport request containing the IMG

(Go to SE01, check for the objects in the piecelist

In change mode, Request/Tasks -> Object List -> Include Objects.

Then select the piecelist created.)

8. Release the request.

9. Import this request into Target system.

Hope it solves your problem.

Reward if useful.

Best Regards
