miniSAP 46D Installation Error

Hi guys,

I have already this error but i cant get a reply.

Please help me to overcome this error.

I bought ABAP objects book for miniSAP. I installed it sucessfully first time. But while i am repeating the same procedure for the second time two weeeks later i get an error at 88%. I once again post the error log which i get during the installation.

hi..

is it possible, that you have already installed a previous version of the MiniWAS-System? Though you installed it a few month ago?

The last lines say something about a problem concerning creation of the license-key. Perhaps you've some sticky registry-settings which include an old license-key.

I think you can extend it (it's also explained in the Abap Objects book).

Thanks for ur reply,

I was ver happy to see a reply atlast because i need someone's help for installing miniSAP 4.6D. The problem is i installed first successfully first time and due to some other problems i formatted my hard disk. Now when i am trying to install again it shows all these errors.

The main error i think may be with the database updation. I want to know how can i change the license key without installing it. I too heard that it may be one time installation license. Please help me to overcome this problem.

On the kernal disk there is a file FAQ_E.doc, this give this Q&A:

Error message while installing under Windows 2000:

Error: DBCOMMONDBENV_IND_MSS InternalColdKeyCheck 2 416

Could not find SQL-Server Instance "MSSQLSERVER" on your DB host

"...". You must install SAP into the default instance or into

a named instance that has the same name as your SAP system (SID).

<b>Answer</b>

The "Remote Registry Service" must be running when you install the Mini SAP Basis under Windows 2000.

Check whether the service has started (Control Panel -> Services).

If it has not, start it and restart the terminated installation by choosing Resume Installation.

Note: This also applies to Windows XP, just the system paths may be different.
