Spool problem in windows

Hi

The problem that we have with the printer is that when you send a SAP job to it, it just lies on the PCu2019s print queue and doesnu2019t print out, blocking the queue in the process. when i check from SAP it shows completed, but hangs on the windows queue.

what might be causing this problem?

It is an HP Laserjet 1020.

Regards,

Codlick

We have HP1020 printers in the plant, configured as locl, device type SWIN: Rel4.x/SAPlpd 4.09+ ONLY!

Try that and let me know.

Hi

Sorry, but the printer has been replaced already.

But what i still don't understand is why did it hang from windows only when you are printing from sap, but prints fine from windows side.

Hi

I have been waiting for a respond from the IT technition to tell if all is fine from their side, but they were not able to because the person using the printer was on leave and they couldn't test. IT technician just confirmed that it is the printer that is having a problem and they will replace it with a new one.

The thing is i don't want to print via dialog process, but via spool server.

Hi,

Use SAPSprint instead of SAPLPD

i think problem with device type only, you are using HP Laserjet 1020 and you define HPLJ4 as device type.

define device type: SAPWIN SAPWIN: rel 4.x/saplpd

Hi,

did you install sapsprint on windows server where printer is attached?

provide your printer configuration from SPAD ( with changes you made)
