Hi experts
I lost software, when I unfortunately formated my system b'cos of blody virus attack. So I am in need of software, at least if I get EXPORT 2 DVD that is fine.
Otherwise where can I get ECC 6 for download. Please give me information ASAP.
Thank you.
Sreedhar.
If you´re a SAP customer you can download the software:
http://service.sap.com/installations
if not, then I would be very careful, SAP has no license for "home use"....

Yes - you can download an ABAP and/or J2EE server here on SDN but you can NOT download business software like ERP or CRM. That software must be licensed.
And not only the SAP software must be licensed but also the database for a 4.7 (or ECC/ERP system). There don't exist licenses for "home" or "self" use.
Markus
IDES is licensed software too, the same as a "normal" R/3 (or ECC software):
<...>
Customers and Partners holding the appropriate license can order a complete mySAP Business Suite IDES landscape or selected components free of charge via the SAP Service Marketplace. IDES standard shipments include e.g. R/3 Enterprise, R/3 Enterprise with CRM, R/3 Enterprise with APO, BW, etc.
<...>
Conclusion: without a license not IDES.

You can use the downloads here to practice development. To get the business software (means R/3/, ERP, CRM and thus FI, SD etc.) you will need to get a license or work in a company that has one.
Depending on your country there may also be universites or schools who can provide you with access to a system. I know, it's not what you want to hear but that's the policy - and this is not reduced to SAP alone. Oracle Applications e. g. are also not available as "evaluation", neither are others.
And: evaluation means just that - 30 days until your license expires.

I'm not aware of a way (I'm not working @ SAP) and I seriously doubt so. All software that is necessary to run a SAP server is to be licensed:
- Windows 2003 --> you need a license/key, evaluation is 180 days max (or 60 days until activation)
- Database (e. g. Oracle --> you need a license)
- SAP-System itself (you're not more able to log on after 30 days without a license)
I'm afraid, I don't know anything else.

I installed SAP on XP Professional and I am OK with 30 days evaluation period of SAP ERP package.
In SAP ERP (IDES) we will get Oracle and that is fine for us.
Where as if you go to Oracle then you will get some softwares to download and work on them, I dont have good idea how they work and about that I am not aware of that it is full version or not

Not necessarily - ERP runs on various databases.
ERP 6.0 needs an installed an licensed solution manager software to generate installation keys.

You get a database for development and development tools but you will not get e. g. Oracle Applications 11 (what is also an ERP system).
