Hi Experts,

The trace file located @ path "usr/sap/BPS/DVEBMGS01/log".

This file contents 1 year old logs. Can I delete this file from OS level? Because we are using AIX operating system and at this movement we can not extend the file extension. Kindly suggest me whether I can delete this file.

Thanks for your reply ASAP.

Regards,

Haseem.

Hi Haseem,

Have you seen this note? [ST01: How do you delete files from the system trace?|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/79187]

This shows how to delete trace files and has a link to a note on what to do when your file system gets full (listed at the bottom).

Hope that helps.

Thanks,

Joe Haynes

Hi

These files are created when someone turns on tracing, for example an SQL trace in ST05. These files can be deleted anytime (off course the trace will be gone then). It is further possible to configure the size and number of files with the following parameters:

rstr/filename

rstr/max_filesize_MB

rstr/max_files

Best regards

Michael
