Dear friends,

I need a clarification on follwing things:

When we need to tranfer HR Master data from SAP ECC system to SAP CRM system what kind of middleware will you people suggest.

When we are connecting two SAP systems ( ECC & CRM )

Option 1:

Can we connect through ALE

Option 2:

Can we connect through PI

Please suggest me which is best posible way.

I feel i will use PI only when i talk to Non SAP systems

Kindly give ur valuable suggestions .

I will surely reward you full points.

Dear Karthik,

If both the systems are SAP based.

1. You can directly pass messages between two systems without PI.

2. Performence of passing IDOCS or RFC's without PI is faster.

3. If there are many clients to mange between these two servers then go for PI. Because if clients are more communication performence decreases without PI.

Best Regards

Dear Friends,

I neeed one clarification regarding these connecting two SAP systems.

Kinldy tell me or list following thingS in points:

1. List Advantages & Disadvatages of using ALE Between ( SAP ECC & SAP CRM ).

2. List Advantages & Disadvatages of using PI between ( SAP ECC & SAP CRM ).

I hope we will then get clear picture of this part and it will be really helpful for me.

Take care,

Hi Karthik,

Although, technically both are valid possibilities, the standard practice would be to use PI whether or not both parties are R/3 based.

In your landscape, if you have PI or for that matter any middleware, you should always route your messages via the middleware only.

It is not good to have some point to point connections and some hub-spoke type connections in the same landscape.

Hi Karthik,

it better to go with PI becoz both are SAP systems and u have set of IDOCs or BAPI's with a standard structure so it will be easy for the data transfer

it even better compare to ALE

if found worth pls the req

Thanx

Hi,

I think you can use both ALE and PI for this purpose.

PI can also be efficiently used to integrate SAP systems. It can communicate with both SAP and NON SAP systems efficiently

Hi,

In my earlier project we have faced this. We preffered ALE when complex mappings are not required at all and used PI whenever the data needed major mapping changes
